What do you mean when you say believe in yourself??

I was listening to Sandeep Maheshwari and he shared some very simple elementary thing which we overlook in our day to day life, which can make hell lot of difference in us.

I always wondered what does believe in your self means.

I think Sandeep answered it in very accurately, let’s say one wants to wake up early in the morning for a walk or some workout. But while he was about to sleep if one thought that it is difficult to wake up early in the morning then our mind will give us 15 different reasons not to wake up early in the morning as our brain works in branches, one thought after another and eventually one will end up adjusting the alarm clock from 6 to 7 AM.

On the other hand if one thinks positively and one tells his bran that no matter how late I will sleep I still can wake up at 6 AM as it is very easy thing to do, then you brain will raise some concerns first, but after telling the brain 2-3 times the same thing, the  brain will start functioning in other way and now it will give you 15 new reasons how to wake up at 6 AM, amazingly one will wake up at 5:55 AM.

Although I am not sure how this will apply on I can punch a hole through walls, I think when you will tell your bran this, and brain will start pointing to logical questions and may be suggesting some more logical approach to the task.

So I think believe in your self is telling yourself what you can do or as Sandeep says, it’s easy. Not believing in your self is simply telling yourself it is difficult. As something difficult becomes impossible later on.

Ekhart Tolle - The Power Of Now - My Notes of Ch1

Chapter 1: You are not your mind.

The title sounds like something from The Matrix.

Ekart Tolle(ET;)  talks about enlightenment. And shares the story of a beggar who is sitting on a box forever and never looked inside it as he believed what could possibly be there, but when ET asked to look inside it, the box was full of gold. Now ET calls him self as the person and we are the beggar sitting on a box of gold and not aware of the fact. ET suggests we should inside our selves.

We are beggars because we have not found our true wealth which is radiant joy of being and the unshakable peace that comes with it. This wealth is infinitely greater than anything the world could offer.

ET says enlightenment is nothing like a super human ability but our natural state of felt oneness with being. ET mentioned being yet again here. Further he says it is the state of connectedness with something immeasurable and indestructible which is essentially you but greater than you, it is finding your true nature beyond name and form. ET says if you are not aware of this then conflicts between within and outside comes and hence our current state.

Buddha's definition of enlightenment is end of suffering, there is nothing super human about it, The definition tells us what enlightenment is not which is no suffering, but now question is if there is no suffering then what is left, for this Buddha is silent, simply means to find it out ourselves. Buddha intentionally gave this kind of definition so that our minds cannot make it something to believe in, a goal that is very difficult to achieve something super human.

For ET the word "being" is the internal ever present one life beyond the myriad(countless) forms of life that are subject to birth and death. According to Hindu believes ET is definitely talking about God here.

ET continues, However being is not only beyond but also deep with in every form as its inner most invisible and indestructible essence. Simple means this is accessible to us now which is our true nature, but don't try to grasp it through your mind, don't try to understand it, we can know it only

  • when our mind is still,
  • when we are present,
  • when our tension is fully and intensely in the now
Being can be felt but can never be understood mentally. To regain awareness of being and and to abide in the feeling realization is enlightenment. Don't stress on it for now all the points will be cleared shortly.

ET continues that he certainly do not want to use the word God for the word Being. Due to following reasons

    1. God word has lost it meaning over centuries of misuse, people don't understand the vastness behind that word and use it with great conviction as if they knew what they are talking about, or they knew what it is.
    2. God word gives rise to beliefs like my or your God.
    3. God word has became a close, gives a mental picture of someone or something outside us,
ET says Neither God or Being or any other word can define or explain the ineffable(extreme) reality behind that word, so need to point in the same direction and God word is an obstacle in doing that hence ET uses the word Being. As the word God or being doesn't explain what it is. being is an open concept, most importantly it is impossible to form a mental image of it.

FOREX Trading in India - Legal Or Illegal

Hello,

I opened an online Forex trading account with iForex few years back, picked up its reference from some website add, lost all my money I invested and the outcome was very marginal. At that time I did some online research and found iForex is not regulated so I stopped trading completely.

Then recently I was contacted by someone at ufxmarkets, same kind of thing as iForex but seems like regulated by some international body, I decided to invest some money in it, I tried to send $500 but my Credit Card was kind of not allowing it. Then I received one communication from Citibank which said Forex trading is not legal in India or for Indian residents through any online portal. Citibank suggested the following links to read.

https://www.online.citibank.co.in/portal/pdf/CIRAPDI.pdf

http://rbi.org.in/scripts/NotificationUser.aspx?Id=6336&Mode=0

http://rbi.org.in/scripts/NotificationUser.aspx?Id=6819&Mode=0

Realising what's going on I researched a bit more on the net and following are my findings.

  • As per RBI it is Illegal to trade in Forex through any online portal.
  • A small amount can be invested but there is no way of being sure that you are safe or you will be ignored of the legal action.
  • You can trade through following, which are legal, uses only INR and few other currencies, like USD, GBP, YEN etc
  • There is a lot of information on Illegal aspect of online portals and Forex trade that one should not go this way till RBI announces it is legal to do so in India.
  • A lot of people believe iForex is a hoax / dabba company and they work like a casino, do not invest with them.
  • Excellent link to read more about it.

Why Ancient Text is So Difficult to Understand

Hello,

I always wondered why ancient text like Gita,Vedas, Purans, Bible, Kuran etc are difficult to understand. Why things were not easily written, I have found that it is same with most of the people around the world. The ancient knowledge / wisdom is too hard to understand.

I only wonder if the people who wrote them were so intelligent to write something like this, but still they didn't made it easy, they made it very hard to understand from the beginning and it is same with any culture or any ancient text you pick up, they all be very difficult to understand.

A simple explanation is people who wrote such amazing books they were very intelligent no doubt, they must have wrote them like that deliberately. I mean they can easily write things which are easy to understand, but none of them even tried that, I think they made good effort to write things in riddles so that only few can understand. I came to know about these few from a recent book I read.

I recently read Dan Brown's The Lost Symbol, amazing book btw, but the most amazing thing I noticed that every culture in the world has wisdom to offer through there word which are simply ancient books, but all these words are very difficult to understand, the authors of such books made them difficult to understand as they wanted only few WORTHY people can really understand the true meaning of ancient words.

According to the book the ancient people did this because they believed that knowledge is power and only worthy understands significance of such power, this power in hands of unworthy or wrong guy can cause great disasters. of course bad people can be knowledgeable and can understand the true meaning but still very few will really understand it.

Simply with great power comes great responsibility.

I wasn't aware about this earlier, but  I really think this is the explanation if you find a book like Shrimad Bhagwat Gita too hard to understand or don't make sense, then simply because it is intended to be studied hardly. Simply in order to understand it you need to spent good amount of time with it that' all.

So happy learning.

Top Reasons Why Companies Fail To Keep Their Best Talent

I was going through this post on linkedin today and Eric mentioned top 10 reasons why best talent leaves big companies, as I have some insight one the same, would like to share which point I feel are relevant.

So here's my top reason due to which great people leave companies.

  1. Virtual Tags: Every one of us are masters of a certain field or certain tool, as humans do stereotype hence managers and HR does the same, a virtual tag is give to all the employees based on employees expertise, now all the current and future work is based on this tag, even after promotion this tag doesn't leave our tails. Worst part is most of the employees are not happy about this tag, and want to get out their current tag or eventually want to change their jobs.
  2. Failing to find a project which ignites their passion: There is always something which is more financially viable for a company and companies really want to keep on working n the same, if company is working on something for a long time then there is an employee who is getting wear out due to this, may be this regular work was exciting in the beginning but not anymore, above all work on something new would require resources and money which a company might not willing to apply hence, employee want to change.
  3. No discussions on career development: Normally the average number of discussions done for an employee as far as career development is concerned is only 2 by early meeting, normally at time of appraisals and a normal performance review. Even for a great talent it only 2 meeting in a year. If someone asks any employee what they will be doing in 5 years, no one will have answer for the same. No one has a clear guded path where thye are going, simply another reason they leave.
  4. Full Control: This is another thing which I personally experienced, not letting go, top manager may give their precious project to a great talent, but they would like to have supreme control on the project, which is like I trust you but I don't  trust you, I would do the critical thing, and If I forget something then its your fault, on the talent part this is misleading as no full control means no control at all. So either trust him or not trust trust him. I am not saying occasional peaking in the project is bad, it can be of great help, but control should be in one hand only.
  5. Top Talent Works With Top Talents: If you are the best because you work with the best, top talent needs to work with other top talents, if some top talent is laving the company, or the number of top talents are reducing, simply means all the top talents will eventually leave.
  6. Vision: According to a study most of the employees of a company are unaware of vision of the company and if some says they are aware then it will be a different version then the actual one, great talents will leave companies like this as soon as they get a chance.
  7. Ideas: great talents will have great ideas, they would like the management to hear them and implement few if they like them, in a company which will never listen and if they do listen then do nothing about it, you won't find great talents here anymore.
